Not only Archos, Samsung and LG are making tablets for kids, but also the brand Fuhu. They announced the nabi 2 and nabi XD tablets month ago and now the products are getting their first major updates.
It is now the end of January and I'm still waiting as there is still no update for the tablet. I just called customer support again. They told me nabi mode is not available for this tablet. I mention about how they advertise this feature and was told that only some of the Nabi XD tablets support the nabi mode. I asked if they could swap the tablet for one that has the mode and she had to talk to management. When she came back she said they would be willing to do so but there is no guarantee it would have the nabi mode as they don't know which ones in their warehouse have nabi mode. They obviously don't know anything about quality control if they don't know what is in the products they sell.
The nabi XD Tablet (10.1-Inch) Skin Protector features two layers of protection. The first, topmost layer contains no unsightly "orange peel effect," while providing scratch-resistance and UV protection for anti-yellowing. The second layer is a thick, puncture resistant film to minimize damage from scrapes and dents. Unlike other nabi XD Tablet (10.1-Inch) screen protectors and skins, the TechSkin features "self-healing" technology, meaning scratches do not stay on the film, and keeps your nabi XD Tablet (10.1-Inch) looking new.
Toughed as the world's first Android ultra portable device exclusively designed for the Tweens, the Fuhu Nabi XD tablet will come along with a kid-safe browsing feature enabling parents to direct their kids only to safer websites. Partnered with Rightware Kanzi, the Fuhy has embedded their user interface solution (UI) on to Nabi XD giving UI to an extreme level. The tab boosts of featuring NFC technologies which allows users to sync devices with a simple touch giving incredible gaming experience.
