As a first time parent, I spent time thinking of what my son needed. The high contrast starter library for visual development. The baby gym to boost hand/eye coordination. The plastic teething giraffe that promises to "awaken" the baby's senses. As a third-time parent with a lot more wear and a little more wisdom, I've spent time thinking of what I can give away. With two older siblings doting and prodding number three I have no doubt she'll have the requisite amount of development, coordination, sensory awakening - albeit at the expense of the occasional tickle-pinch.
There's a reason this teething giraffe has been around since 1961 - babies love it! Not only does it work as a toy as well as a teether, but it encourages newborns to reach and grab as part of their development.
The Teething Giraffe is approximately 8" tall, 3" long and 1.5" wide. They are each handmade with love, so sizing may vary slightly. Fabric pattern placement may vary from the photo.
I came up with the Star Safari Teething Giraffe after receiving something similar for our baby from friends. My little one loved it, but so did my 3-year-old niece! When we asked where we could get another one, our friends told us that it had been made by their grandmother who had passed away. I figured out how I could make one with a few aesthetic changes and before my niece left to go home we had a herd of giraffes in the house!
